Sample Data Page

Every Team's Wiki must have a Data Page. It is a guide page that takes visitors directly to your data in the Registry. Do not expect judges to look at data on your Wiki pages or on other web pages pages outside of the Registry. The example below is a Data Page for a fictional device. Follow the format in this example (comments are in green boxes...please do not include these comments on your Data Page).

Below is an example of how a Data Page should look and what it should contain:

1. Main Page - BAR responsive promoter, BBa_X0X0X: promoter can be induced to express a marker gene (GFP) when exposed to skunk smell (Butanethiol, C₄H₉SH), but not when exposed to pleasant scents
2. Main Page - Insulated Vector, BBa_XXX00: un-induced leaky expression is blocked by transcriptional terminators
3. Main Page - BAR Bad Odor Receptor, BBa_000XX: yellow fluorescent protein-tagged BAR (BBa_X00XX) shows that BAR is produced in E. coli

1. Experience - Wintergreen odor enzyme generator, BBa_J45119 (MIT, iGEM 2006): 98 out of 100 volunteer subjects standing up to 5 feet away from the bacterial cultures could distinguish wintergreen-producing bacteria from negative controls.
2. Experience - RBS, BBa_J61110 (Arkin Lab, 2007): Of the 5 RBS Parts we tested, this RBS works best for expressing yellow fluorescent protein-tagged BAR

1. Main Page - Air Freshilizor, BBa_XXXXX: Our mathematical model predicts that the threshold of activation is 10 parts per billion, the concentration of Butanethiol that humans can typically smell

Detailed Guidelines

• Data Figures: The data itself (graphs, charts, photos, etc.) must appear on the Registry page for the relevant Part, not in the Data Page itself. Please make figure images a reasonable size. Include a clear and descriptive figure legend. See http://partsregistry.org/Part:BBa_J45119:Experience for a good example.
• Credit: The data linked to your Data Page must be data produced by your team. In the figure legends for your data in the Registry, include your team's name and the year the data was produced.
• Navigation: Add a clearly visible link on your team Wiki main page that points to your Data Page.
• Data for brand new Parts: figures (charts, graphs, cell images, simulation graphs, model equations, etc.) and figure legends for New Parts must be posted on the Main Page section of the Part's Registry entry.
• New data for pre-existing Parts made by other teams: must be posted on the Experience page under the Characterization section of the Part's Registry entry. Be sure to include your team name and year in the figure legend (example: Fictional Team 2011. Legend title. Legend text)
• New data for pre-existing Parts made by your school/ team in a previous year: If the pre-existing part was made by your school/ team during a previous year, you can add the data to the Main Page and indicate in the figure legend that your data is new (i.e., "Updated, 2011" or "New data, 2011")
• "Old" data from the literature: If you have collected descriptive measurements from the literature in order to help users better understand the function of your part, you may include that data on your Part page and you must credit the source.
